GRADE II LISTED BESPOKE REFURBISHMENT

GRADE II LISTED BESPOKE REFURBISHMENT

Not many people know this but, unlike the majority of steel fabrication companies, Denton-Powell
excels at bespoke structural re-fit refurbishments for period buildings - often when properties need
updating to the exact specifications of architects or structural engineers or reinforcing for safety
purposes.
Denton-Powell is renown for meeting every challenge, whether it’s smoothing over the sudden
complications caused by a massive sinkhole opening up on a city centre construction project to
reveal the previously undiscovered remains of a Roman town and Medieval church, bringing all work
on site to an immediate standstill, or replicating intricate Victorian craftsmanship.

We were delighted to be involved in the bespoke refurbishment of this elegant Grade II Listed house
on the Dorset coastline when the intricate ironwork first-floor balcony was deemed unsafe because
the 19 th Century timber sections were found to be rotten.
Our team produced drawings to illustrate the work involved and then fabricated exact replicas of the
rotten timber pieces in metal, which were carefully fitted so the end result appeared identical to the
original craftsmanship - as well as now being safe, sturdy and compliant with Historic England and
UK Building Regulations.
If anyone has a bespoke challenge for us, whether large or small, please email your enquiry to
sales@denton-powell.co.uk and a member of our team will endeavour to respond immediately.
